Volume V’s suggested theme is SACRIFICE. What would you give for everything you have ever wanted? Who would you throw into the fire to save your own skin? Where do you lay your offerings? Let the chilling tale echo in The Dark Corner…
- The Dark Corner is interested in publishing dark, weird, supernatural, paranormal, Gothic, sci-fi, horror writing. As long as there is a darkness at the centre of the story, we want it.
- Previously unpublished submissions only.
- Please submit one story and up to two pieces of poetry.
- One category per submission only i.e. submit either fiction OR poetry.
- Stories should be as long or as short as they need to be.
- There is no line limit for poetry.
- All submissions should be sent in an attached word document to thedarkcornermagazine (at) gmail (dot) com.
- Please enter the word ‘Submission’ into the subject line of your email with the category you are submitting to i.e. Submission: fiction / Submission: poetry etc.
- DO NOT include any name or identifying details in the body of your work.
- Prose should be double spaced, font size 12, in Times New Roman.
- Please include the word count for prose pieces in the body of your email.
- Please include a short bio, maximum of one hundred words, in the body of your email.
- Simultaneous submissions are accepted as long as you notify us immediately should submitted work be accepted for publication elsewhere.
- Each selected author will receive a nominal payment of €50 for the publication of their story or poem(s). The Dark Corner will be working to increase this payment in the future.
